Growing up in Hollywood during the Great Depression, Kathy chooses not to follow her mother as an animal trainer. She has an affinity for small animals, especially cats, and embarks on a journey to become a veterinarian, something almost unheard of for women in 1940s America.
We Are Magic is the final book in The Listener trilogy. Beginning in rural Ireland and ending on the beaches of Santa Monica, the trilogy comprises the stories of three magical women, the trials they face and the love they have for their animals and their families.
